Fast-casual chain Genghis Grill is opening its only location in Ohio, at 18 E. 15th Ave. near the Ohio State campus next week.
The restaurant chain, offering pre-made and create-your-own rice and noodle-based bowls, appetizers, desserts and more, will open on June 23 at University Square.
The grilled-to-order bowls include more than 80 ingredient options, including keto, gluten-free, low-carb, vegan and vegetarian ingredients, with white rice, fried rice, cauliflower rice, udon noodles, rice noodles, cabbage, tortillas or potato hash as a base.
In a new service model and design for the company, the restaurant will feature both cashiers and ordering kiosks for quick ordering and a separate to-go order and pick-up area in a smaller and more "efficient" space, according to a release.
The new location marks the first franchised-owned restaurant to open in 10 years as part of Genghis Grill's new franchising program. The company currently expects to open 23 new franchise-owned locations in the next few years with the new restaurant design.
The chain—a concept by BD's Mongolian Grill owner Mongolian Concepts—has over 50 locations across the U.S., in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Virginia, Tennessee, Colorado and North Carolina.
Restaurant hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
